The Joop
A Volvo 940 wagon that was never supposed to be four-wheel drive. Now it is.
Central Florida · Est. 1985
When the rest of the world clocks out, the build begins.
Radical 4WD swaps, custom fabrication, and a custom home going up from the ground. Real projects, built in the margins of a busy life.
The series
After a career building homes for other families, I'm building one for mine. Every phase goes on camera, from the slab to the last trim nail.
In the garage
Projects that probably shouldn't work. Welding, machining, and drivetrain swaps, all on camera.
A Volvo 940 wagon that was never supposed to be four-wheel drive. Now it is.
A rusty old International pickup with free mustache rides on the tailgate and a lot of life left in it.
An old-school Ford workhorse with a homemade wood flatbed and a long list of plans.
Expedition · July 2027
For my 40th birthday, eight of us are paddling the Yukon River from Eagle to Circle, Alaska. Around 160 river miles of wilderness, no roads, no cell service. All of it on camera.
